UNLV Art Collaborative Sculpture

UNLV Art Aluminum Casting

Participants are invited to help create a new community-based collaborative sculpture to be cast at the end of Art Walk! Demonstrations will be provided and everyone has a chance to make their mark on the sculpture. Once the mold is complete, attendees can watch a student-led aluminum pour. Aluminum is heated in the furnace until molten, then poured into the mold. The final result will eventually be displayed in the HFA Art Lobby along with last year’s Art Walk project. We light the furnace at 7:20 and plan to pour about 7:45.
